“The consumer isn’t a moron; she is your wife. You insult her intelligence if you assume that a mere slogan and a few vapid adjectives will persuade her to buy anything. She wants all the information you can give her.” – David Ogilvy
Treat your website visitors like you care about them. Give them the best information and products you can, and they will like you and trust you and buy from you.
“How appropriate—both for internet marketers (who are often known for tactics that treat those they target as morons) and bloggers (who can at times talk down to readers). The idea of treating your reader as someone who you value, as someone incredibly special to you, will take bloggers a long way. Another Ogilvy quote that relates: “Never write an advertisement which you wouldn’t want your family to read. You wouldn’t tell lies to your own wife. Don’t tell them to mine.” – ProBlogger
“On the average, five times as many people read the headline as read the body copy. When you have written your headline, you have spent eighty cents out of your dollar.” – ProBlogger
So make sure the first words at the top of your Landing Page say that you are going to solve the main problem that your target visitor has. For example if your site sells a membership training program teaching people how to meet women have your headline be something like “Learn the secret to meet extremely hot women and getting them into bed within the first week of meeting them” That’s what your target market wants.
lol, that was depressing. never saw my life as a bunch of dots before…. but you’re right, value other people’s time as much as your own. the clock IS ticking…..
